| | The Journal for Leaders of Social Change through Peace Education is a refereed publication published by the National Association for Peace (NAPE). The purpose of the journal is to create an academic forum and a dialogue for reducing violence in urban schools. The publication provides educators, scholars, and professionals across academic disciplines an opportunity to disseminate their scholarly works. NAPE is committed to encourage and support scholars in Teacher Education to conduct research in peace education and related disciplines.
There are no restrictions on the background or specialization of the authors, as long as the articles reflect scholarship and scientific standards while interacting with issues relevant to urban education. The Journal publishes both invited articles on special topics and manuscripts submitted for consideration to the Journal by the author. The editorial board is committed to including only the highest level of research and professional ideas in this publication
Submissions should not exceed 7 - 15 pages double spaced 8.5 by 11 in a 12 point font with one-inch margins. The manuscript must be typed utilizing Microsoft Word. Submissions must include three hard copies of the manuscript as well as a disk copy. All articles manuscripts must include an abstract of 100 to 200 words placed on a separate page after the title page. The abstract should be succinct and provides a synopsis of the content of the manuscript. Additionally, it must not include material not appear appearing in the main body of the article. Authors should include a separate cover page with their names, titles, institutional affiliation, mailing addresses, daytime phone number(s), fax number(s), email addresses, and a brief biographical sketch. Every effort should be made to ensure that, except for the cover sheet, the manuscript contains no clues to the authors’ identity. In addition, the manuscript must be accompanied by a cover letter containing the name, address, and phone number of the contact author, as well as a statement that the manuscript is not under consideration elsewhere.
The editors request that all text pages be numbered consecutively. References should include the most recent publications on the subject matter. For writing and editorial styles, authors must follow guidelines in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.
Articles are assessed based on topic suitability, originality, innovativeness, applicability, scholarship and adherence to scientific standards and relevance, and cogency of argument. The Journal for Leaders of Social Change through Peace Education is especially committed to publish manuscripts which attempt to combine theory and practice and add to the literature pertaining to the enrichment of urban schools and schooling. Therefore, regardless of the scientific field, research methodology or research design, the conclusions of the articles must be practically oriented enriching educational experiences of students in urban schools.
All articles will be peer reviewed. Before publication of any manuscript, authors are obliged to sign a copyright agreement with the Journal for Leaders of Social Change through Peace Education in accordance with U.S. Copyright laws of effective January, 1978. Under the agreement, authors agree willingly to transfer copyright to Journal of Leaders of Social Change through Peace Education which will, however, freely grant the author the right to reprint his or her article, if published in the author’s works.
